Wine Tasting Insurance: Coverage, Cost and Same-Day Guide

A wine tasting pours samples from one or more wineries at a shop, gallery, winery, fundraiser or private home, sometimes paired with food. Organizers should confirm who supplies and pours the wine, whether liquor liability is in place, and what the venue expects for alcohol service.

Which guide answers my question?

Which activities should the application describe?

Insurers price and review wine tasting insurance from the activity plan, not the event name. Describe who is responsible for each of these arrangements:

  • Identify who supplies the wines and conducts tasting pours.
  • Describe ticketing, samples, bottle sales and any food pairing.
  • Coordinate tasting stations and distinguish the organizer from wineries or hired servers.

What kind of claim is this insurance for?

Suppose a guest is cut when a display of wine bottles on a tasting table crashes to the floor and alleges that the tasting organizer caused the injury. That is the kind of third-party claim event liability insurance may address, subject to the policy terms. If a guest overserved at the tasting later causes a crash, a liquor liability claim, you may need a separate coverage option; ordinary event liability is not automatically the answer.

What should I have ready for a quote?

  • The legal name of the tasting organizer who will be the named insured.
  • Event dates, setup and teardown times, the venue address and expected daily attendance.
  • The venue contract or permit, including any certificate and additional insured wording it requires.
  • Whether alcohol is served, sold or brought by guests, and who serves it.
  • Hired vendors, performers and equipment rentals, and any activity beyond the list above.

Request a quote with your event details. Submitting the form does not bind insurance.
