Walking Tour Insurance: Coverage, Cost and Same-Day Guide

A walking tour guides groups on foot through neighborhoods, historic districts or food and art routes while the guide presents local stories. Operators should look at participant injury exposure, stops inside businesses, any food or drink tastings and whether the guide's commentary raises professional liability.

Which guide answers my question?

Which activities should the application describe?

Insurers price and review walking tour insurance from the activity plan, not the event name. Describe who is responsible for each of these arrangements:

  • Describe the walking tour's itinerary and the subjects presented by the guide.
  • Identify planned property visits, stopping points and group access arrangements.
  • Coordinate admissions or supplier services included within the tour.

What kind of claim is this insurance for?

Suppose a shop customer is hurt when tour members crowding a storefront knock a sidewalk sandwich board onto her and alleges that the tour guide caused the injury. That is the kind of third-party claim event liability insurance may address, subject to the policy terms. If a tour member twists an ankle on cobblestones and alleges the guide rushed the group, you may need a separate coverage option; ordinary event liability is not automatically the answer.

What should I have ready for a quote?

  • The legal name of the tour guide who will be the named insured.
  • Event dates, setup and teardown times, the venue address and expected daily attendance.
  • The venue contract or permit, including any certificate and additional insured wording it requires.
  • Whether alcohol is served, sold or brought by guests, and who serves it.
  • Hired vendors, performers and equipment rentals, and any activity beyond the list above.

Request a quote with your event details. Submitting the form does not bind insurance.
