Video Game Contest Insurance: Coverage, Cost and Same-Day Guide

A video game contest runs brackets on consoles or PCs at a school, store, convention or arena, often with a main screen and spectator seating. Organizers should sort out coverage for rented equipment, audience seating safety, power and cabling layouts and how prizes and entry fees are handled.

Which guide answers my question?

Which activities should the application describe?

Insurers price and review video game contest insurance from the activity plan, not the event name. Describe who is responsible for each of these arrangements:

  • Identify consoles, computers and the games being played.
  • Describe player equipment, network and power arrangements.
  • Coordinate participant ages, streaming and prizes.

What kind of claim is this insurance for?

Suppose a spectator is hurt when an overloaded riser holding the main-screen audience shifts during the final match and alleges that the contest organizer caused the injury. That is the kind of third-party claim event liability insurance may address, subject to the policy terms. If rented consoles and monitors are stolen or damaged during the contest, you may need a separate coverage option; ordinary event liability is not automatically the answer.

What should I have ready for a quote?

  • The legal name of the contest organizer who will be the named insured.
  • Event dates, setup and teardown times, the venue address and expected daily attendance.
  • The venue contract or permit, including any certificate and additional insured wording it requires.
  • Whether alcohol is served, sold or brought by guests, and who serves it.
  • Hired vendors, performers and equipment rentals, and any activity beyond the list above.

Request a quote with your event details. Submitting the form does not bind insurance.
