Hired Ventriloquist Insurance: Coverage, Cost and Same-Day Guide

A hired ventriloquist performs with one or more figures at birthday parties, schools, fairs and corporate shows, often inviting audience members up to help. Performers should look at venue certificate requirements, how audience participation is handled and whether their figures and props are protected in transit.

Which guide answers my question?

Which activities should the application describe?

Insurers price and review hired ventriloquist insurance from the activity plan, not the event name. Describe who is responsible for each of these arrangements:

  • Describe the figure, props and seating used by the ventriloquist.
  • Identify audience participation and movement around the performance area.
  • Clarify who supplies and stores the act's equipment.

What kind of claim is this insurance for?

Suppose a child brought onstage to help with the act falls off a stool beside the ventriloquist's prop table and alleges that the ventriloquist caused the injury. That is the kind of third-party claim event liability insurance may address, subject to the policy terms. If the ventriloquist's custom figure is damaged in transit and cannot be used for booked shows, you may need a separate coverage option; ordinary event liability is not automatically the answer.

What should I have ready for a quote?

  • The legal name of the ventriloquist who will be the named insured.
  • Event dates, setup and teardown times, the venue address and expected daily attendance.
  • The venue contract or permit, including any certificate and additional insured wording it requires.
  • Whether alcohol is served, sold or brought by guests, and who serves it.
  • Hired vendors, performers and equipment rentals, and any activity beyond the list above.

Request a quote with your event details. Submitting the form does not bind insurance.
