Static Vehicle Display Vendor Insurance: Coverage, Cost and Same-Day Guide

A vehicle display vendor shows cars, boats, RVs or equipment parked at a fair, mall or trade show for visitors to look over, without driving demonstrations. Vendors should look at who owns each vehicle, how damage to displayed units is covered, and how load-in driving fits the static-only classification.

Which guide answers my question?

Which activities should the application describe?

Insurers price and review static vehicle display vendor insurance from the activity plan, not the event name. Describe who is responsible for each of these arrangements:

  • Identify the vehicles displayed by the vendor and who owns them.
  • Describe transport, parked positioning and customer viewing arrangements.
  • Separate the static display from any proposed test drives or vehicle movement.

What kind of claim is this insurance for?

Suppose a visitor's child is injured when a display car door on the vendor's stand swings shut on his fingers and alleges that the vehicle display vendor caused the injury. That is the kind of third-party claim event liability insurance may address, subject to the policy terms. If the displayed vehicle is dented by crowds or damaged while being driven into the venue, you may need a separate coverage option; ordinary event liability is not automatically the answer.

What should I have ready for a quote?

  • The legal name of the vehicle display vendor who will be the named insured.
  • Event dates, setup and teardown times, the venue address and expected daily attendance.
  • The venue contract or permit, including any certificate and additional insured wording it requires.
  • Whether alcohol is served, sold or brought by guests, and who serves it.
  • Hired vendors, performers and equipment rentals, and any activity beyond the list above.

Request a quote with your event details. Submitting the form does not bind insurance.
