Trivia Event Insurance: Coverage, Cost and Same-Day Guide

A trivia event pits teams against each other at a bar, restaurant, school or community hall, with a host, prizes and often food and drinks. Organizers should confirm who controls the venue, whether they sell or serve alcohol, and what the venue or client contract requires.

Which guide answers my question?

Which activities should the application describe?

Insurers price and review trivia event insurance from the activity plan, not the event name. Describe who is responsible for each of these arrangements:

  • Describe trivia teams and the question-delivery format.
  • Identify screens, microphones and answer collection.
  • Coordinate entry fees, prizes and any food service.

What kind of claim is this insurance for?

Suppose a player reaching for the answer sheet is hurt when an overcrowded banquet table collapses in the community hall and alleges that the trivia host caused the injury. That is the kind of third-party claim event liability insurance may address, subject to the policy terms. If the organizer sells beer to trivia teams without liquor liability coverage in place, you may need a separate coverage option; ordinary event liability is not automatically the answer.

What should I have ready for a quote?

  • The legal name of the trivia host who will be the named insured.
  • Event dates, setup and teardown times, the venue address and expected daily attendance.
  • The venue contract or permit, including any certificate and additional insured wording it requires.
  • Whether alcohol is served, sold or brought by guests, and who serves it.
  • Hired vendors, performers and equipment rentals, and any activity beyond the list above.

Request a quote with your event details. Submitting the form does not bind insurance.
