Taekwondo Class Insurance: Coverage, Cost and Same-Day Guide

A taekwondo class teaches forms, kicks and controlled drills, sometimes with light sparring, in a studio, gym or community room. Instructors should sort out participant injury coverage, waivers, professional liability for instruction, and whether the space owner requires certificates for the class.

Which guide answers my question?

Which activities should the application describe?

Insurers price and review taekwondo class insurance from the activity plan, not the event name. Describe who is responsible for each of these arrangements:

  • Describe the tae-kwon-do lesson's forms, drills and intended contact level.
  • Identify instructors, participant ages and the use of protective or training equipment.
  • Coordinate partner practice and the limits of the class program.

What kind of claim is this insurance for?

Suppose a parent watching from the mat edge is kicked when a student loses balance during a spinning kick drill and alleges that the taekwondo instructor caused the injury. That is the kind of third-party claim event liability insurance may address, subject to the policy terms. If a student is injured sparring and the family alleges the instructor taught the technique improperly, you may need a separate coverage option; ordinary event liability is not automatically the answer.

What should I have ready for a quote?

  • The legal name of the taekwondo instructor who will be the named insured.
  • Event dates, setup and teardown times, the venue address and expected daily attendance.
  • The venue contract or permit, including any certificate and additional insured wording it requires.
  • Whether alcohol is served, sold or brought by guests, and who serves it.
  • Hired vendors, performers and equipment rentals, and any activity beyond the list above.

Request a quote with your event details. Submitting the form does not bind insurance.
