Social Media Coordinator Insurance: Coverage, Cost and Same-Day Guide

Social media coordinators capture and post content during weddings, launches and corporate events, often with phones, ring lights and gimbals, and sometimes manage the client's accounts. Coordinators should define account access and posting authority, confirm venue certificate requests and ask whether media, cyber or professional liability is needed.

Which guide answers my question?

Which activities should the application describe?

Insurers price and review social media coordinator insurance from the activity plan, not the event name. Describe who is responsible for each of these arrangements:

  • Define access to the client's social accounts and publishing authority.
  • Describe content approval and audience-data handling.
  • Coordinate live posting and contracted response duties.

What kind of claim is this insurance for?

Suppose a guest is hit when the coordinator's ring light on a telescoping stand topples during a toast and alleges that the social media coordinator caused the injury. That is the kind of third-party claim event liability insurance may address, subject to the policy terms. If a client's account is hacked or a post infringes a copyright, which calls for cyber or media coverage, you may need a separate coverage option; ordinary event liability is not automatically the answer.

What should I have ready for a quote?

  • The legal name of the social media coordinator who will be the named insured.
  • Event dates, setup and teardown times, the venue address and expected daily attendance.
  • The venue contract or permit, including any certificate and additional insured wording it requires.
  • Whether alcohol is served, sold or brought by guests, and who serves it.
  • Hired vendors, performers and equipment rentals, and any activity beyond the list above.

Request a quote with your event details. Submitting the form does not bind insurance.
