Which guide answers my question?
- Prom Insurance: What Coverage Do You Need? Most proms need general liability insurance for injuries to students and guests and for damage to the venue, often written for the school, PTO, booster club or parent group that signs the venue contract.
- How Much Does Prom Insurance Cost? The cost of prom insurance depends on guest count, venue requirements, alcohol service and hired entertainment.
- Where Can I Get Same-Day or Instant Prom Insurance? You can request prom insurance from Morrow.
- Prom: How Do I Meet the Venue’s Insurance and Certificate Requirements? A venue can require both a certificate of insurance and additional insured protection.
Which activities should the application describe?
Insurers price and review prom insurance from the activity plan, not the event name. Describe who is responsible for each of these arrangements:
- Identify the school, student body and outside host involved.
- Describe chaperone duties and guest-entry arrangements.
- Coordinate dance production, transport and the event's closing schedule.
What kind of claim is this insurance for?
Suppose a student guest is hurt when a balloon arch frame falls onto the dance floor during the grand march and alleges that the prom host caused the injury. That is the kind of third-party claim event liability insurance may address, subject to the policy terms. If the limousine or party bus arranged for students is in an accident, since vehicles are usually excluded, you may need a separate coverage option; ordinary event liability is not automatically the answer.
What should I have ready for a quote?
- The legal name of the prom host who will be the named insured.
- Event dates, setup and teardown times, the venue address and expected daily attendance.
- The venue contract or permit, including any certificate and additional insured wording it requires.
- Whether alcohol is served, sold or brought by guests, and who serves it.
- Hired vendors, performers and equipment rentals, and any activity beyond the list above.
Request a quote with your event details. Submitting the form does not bind insurance.
