Poker and Card Game Event Insurance: Coverage, Cost and Same-Day Guide

Poker events and card games gather players at tables for tournaments, charity game nights or casual play, often with food and drinks. Organizers should describe the game and stakes clearly, check gaming rules with the venue, arrange cash and prize security and sort out liquor liability if alcohol is served.

Which guide answers my question?

Which activities should the application describe?

Insurers price and review poker and card game event insurance from the activity plan, not the event name. Describe who is responsible for each of these arrangements:

  • Describe the poker or card-game variant and stakes.
  • Identify dealers, tables and tournament progression.
  • Coordinate prize handling and entry payments.

What kind of claim is this insurance for?

Suppose a guest is hurt when an overloaded folding card table collapses onto their lap during a heated hand and alleges that the game organizer caused the injury. That is the kind of third-party claim event liability insurance may address, subject to the policy terms. If cash buy-ins or prizes are stolen, or a prize dispute arises, neither of which is bodily injury, you may need a separate coverage option; ordinary event liability is not automatically the answer.

What should I have ready for a quote?

  • The legal name of the game organizer who will be the named insured.
  • Event dates, setup and teardown times, the venue address and expected daily attendance.
  • The venue contract or permit, including any certificate and additional insured wording it requires.
  • Whether alcohol is served, sold or brought by guests, and who serves it.
  • Hired vendors, performers and equipment rentals, and any activity beyond the list above.

Request a quote with your event details. Submitting the form does not bind insurance.
