Non-Professional Golf Event Insurance: Coverage, Cost and Same-Day Guide

A non-professional golf event may include a scramble, tee-time schedule, practice range use, cart rentals and prize contests on a club's course. Organizers usually need to sort out the club's certificate requirements, cart responsibility, player injury questions and any contest prizes separately from spectator liability.

Which guide answers my question?

Which activities should the application describe?

Insurers price and review non-professional golf event insurance from the activity plan, not the event name. Describe who is responsible for each of these arrangements:

  • Schedule tee times and competition activities.
  • Coordinate course access with the club.
  • Identify carts, practice areas and prize activities.

What kind of claim is this insurance for?

Suppose a spectator walking between holes is struck by an errant tee shot near the practice green and alleges that the golf-event organizer caused the injury. That is the kind of third-party claim event liability insurance may address, subject to the policy terms. If a golfer is injured in a cart rollover or a rented golf cart is damaged on the course, you may need a separate coverage option; ordinary event liability is not automatically the answer.

What should I have ready for a quote?

  • The legal name of the golf-event organizer who will be the named insured.
  • Event dates, setup and teardown times, the venue address and expected daily attendance.
  • The venue contract or permit, including any certificate and additional insured wording it requires.
  • Whether alcohol is served, sold or brought by guests, and who serves it.
  • Hired vendors, performers and equipment rentals, and any activity beyond the list above.

Request a quote with your event details. Submitting the form does not bind insurance.
