Gift Exchange Party Insurance: Coverage, Cost and Same-Day Guide

A gift exchange brings guests together to swap or draw presents, sometimes through a game, raffle or donation drive. Hosts often need to settle who holds the gifts beforehand, how storage avoids blocking exits and whether the venue asks for a certificate naming it as additional insured.

Which guide answers my question?

Which activities should the application describe?

Insurers price and review gift exchange party insurance from the activity plan, not the event name. Describe who is responsible for each of these arrangements:

  • Identify who owns and holds gifts before distribution.
  • Describe any game, raffle or donation arrangement linked to the exchange.
  • Arrange storage and guest pickup without blocking exits or service routes.

What kind of claim is this insurance for?

Suppose a guest is struck by a heavy wrapped box that slides off an overstacked gift table near the entrance and alleges that the event host caused the injury. That is the kind of third-party claim event liability insurance may address, subject to the policy terms. If wrapped gifts held by the host are stolen from storage or lost before distribution, you may need a separate coverage option; ordinary event liability is not automatically the answer.

What should I have ready for a quote?

  • The legal name of the event host who will be the named insured.
  • Event dates, setup and teardown times, the venue address and expected daily attendance.
  • The venue contract or permit, including any certificate and additional insured wording it requires.
  • Whether alcohol is served, sold or brought by guests, and who serves it.
  • Hired vendors, performers and equipment rentals, and any activity beyond the list above.

Request a quote with your event details. Submitting the form does not bind insurance.
