Sorority Charity Event Insurance: Coverage, Cost and Same-Day Guide

A sorority charity event raises money for a separate beneficiary through a benefit fair, walk, auction or performance with public attendance. Chapters should confirm which entity organizes the event, how member, volunteer and supplier duties are split, and how guest injuries and admission money may be handled.

Which guide answers my question?

Which activities should the application describe?

Insurers price and review sorority charity event insurance from the activity plan, not the event name. Describe who is responsible for each of these arrangements:

  • Identify the sorority organization and separate beneficiary.
  • Describe member, volunteer and supplier responsibilities.
  • Coordinate the event's fundraising and admission arrangements.

What kind of claim is this insurance for?

Suppose a visitor is burned when a supplier's cotton candy machine sparks at the chapter's benefit fair and alleges that the sorority chapter caused the injury. That is the kind of third-party claim event liability insurance may address, subject to the policy terms. If a volunteer is injured while unloading supplies for the benefit, you may need a separate coverage option; ordinary event liability is not automatically the answer.

What should I have ready for a quote?

  • The legal name of the sorority chapter who will be the named insured.
  • Event dates, setup and teardown times, the venue address and expected daily attendance.
  • The venue contract or permit, including any certificate and additional insured wording it requires.
  • Whether alcohol is served, sold or brought by guests, and who serves it.
  • Hired vendors, performers and equipment rentals, and any activity beyond the list above.

Request a quote with your event details. Submitting the form does not bind insurance.
