Florist and Floral Designer Insurance: Coverage, Cost and Same-Day Guide

A florist or floral designer delivers and installs arrangements, arches and hanging installations at weddings, galas and corporate events. Florists should confirm how guest injuries from water spills or falling pieces may be handled, whether damage to venue surfaces is addressed, and how their own stands and arches are protected.

Which guide answers my question?

Which activities should the application describe?

Insurers price and review florist and floral designer insurance from the activity plan, not the event name. Describe who is responsible for each of these arrangements:

  • Describe floral installations and water-containing displays.
  • Identify arches, stands and attachment points.
  • Coordinate delivery, installation and removal of arrangements.

What kind of claim is this insurance for?

Suppose a guest slips on water leaking from a tall centerpiece vase onto the ballroom floor and alleges that the florist caused the injury. That is the kind of third-party claim event liability insurance may address, subject to the policy terms. If an installation stains the venue's carpet or the florist's arches are damaged in transit, you may need a separate coverage option; ordinary event liability is not automatically the answer.

What should I have ready for a quote?

  • The legal name of the florist who will be the named insured.
  • Event dates, setup and teardown times, the venue address and expected daily attendance.
  • The venue contract or permit, including any certificate and additional insured wording it requires.
  • Whether alcohol is served, sold or brought by guests, and who serves it.
  • Hired vendors, performers and equipment rentals, and any activity beyond the list above.

Request a quote with your event details. Submitting the form does not bind insurance.
