Flea Market Insurance: Coverage, Cost and Same-Day Guide

A flea market gathers independent sellers of secondhand goods, antiques and crafts at a lot, fairground or hall. Organizers should confirm what each seller must carry, how shopper injuries from displays and vendor vehicles may be handled, and what the property owner requires.

Which guide answers my question?

Which activities should the application describe?

Insurers price and review flea market insurance from the activity plan, not the event name. Describe who is responsible for each of these arrangements:

  • Identify independent sellers and categories of secondhand goods.
  • Describe temporary stalls and buyer access.
  • Coordinate vehicle unloading around public trading hours.

What kind of claim is this insurance for?

Suppose a shopper is struck when a stacked vintage dresser tips over as another buyer pulls out a drawer and alleges that the market organizer caused the injury. That is the kind of third-party claim event liability insurance may address, subject to the policy terms. If a seller's goods are stolen from an unattended stall, you may need a separate coverage option; ordinary event liability is not automatically the answer.

What should I have ready for a quote?

  • The legal name of the market organizer who will be the named insured.
  • Event dates, setup and teardown times, the venue address and expected daily attendance.
  • The venue contract or permit, including any certificate and additional insured wording it requires.
  • Whether alcohol is served, sold or brought by guests, and who serves it.
  • Hired vendors, performers and equipment rentals, and any activity beyond the list above.

Request a quote with your event details. Submitting the form does not bind insurance.
