Amateur Fencing Event Insurance: Coverage, Cost and Same-Day Guide

An amateur fencing event may be a club competition, open bout night or demonstration using foil, epee or saber on marked pistes. Organizers should confirm how spectator injuries are handled, whether fencer injuries need participant accident coverage, and what the gym or venue requires.

Which guide answers my question?

Which activities should the application describe?

Insurers price and review amateur fencing event insurance from the activity plan, not the event name. Describe who is responsible for each of these arrangements:

  • Identify the fencing discipline and equipment.
  • Describe piste boundaries and participant access.
  • Coordinate judges, instruction and spectator separation.

What kind of claim is this insurance for?

Suppose a spectator standing near the piste is struck when a broken blade tip flies off during a bout and alleges that the fencing event organizer caused the injury. That is the kind of third-party claim event liability insurance may address, subject to the policy terms. If a fencer is injured through torn protective gear during a bout, you may need a separate coverage option; ordinary event liability is not automatically the answer.

What should I have ready for a quote?

  • The legal name of the fencing event organizer who will be the named insured.
  • Event dates, setup and teardown times, the venue address and expected daily attendance.
  • The venue contract or permit, including any certificate and additional insured wording it requires.
  • Whether alcohol is served, sold or brought by guests, and who serves it.
  • Hired vendors, performers and equipment rentals, and any activity beyond the list above.

Request a quote with your event details. Submitting the form does not bind insurance.
