Ticketed Event Performer Insurance: Coverage, Cost and Same-Day Guide

A ticketed event performer, such as a musician, comedian or variety act, appears before a paying audience under a promoter's contract. The performer should check how audience injuries from props or crowd interaction may be treated, how the label's genre restrictions may apply, and what certificate the promoter or venue requests.

Which guide answers my question?

Which activities should the application describe?

Insurers price and review ticketed event performer insurance from the activity plan, not the event name. Describe who is responsible for each of these arrangements:

  • Identify the exact act and contractual role at the ticketed event.
  • Describe props, technical requirements and audience interaction.
  • Distinguish the performer's fee from admission revenue controlled by the promoter.

What kind of claim is this insurance for?

Suppose an audience member is struck by a confetti cannon the performer fires into the front rows during the encore and alleges that the performer caused the injury. That is the kind of third-party claim event liability insurance may address, subject to the policy terms. If the performer cancels due to illness and the promoter seeks lost ticket revenue, you may need a separate coverage option; ordinary event liability is not automatically the answer.

What should I have ready for a quote?

  • The legal name of the performer who will be the named insured.
  • Event dates, setup and teardown times, the venue address and expected daily attendance.
  • The venue contract or permit, including any certificate and additional insured wording it requires.
  • Whether alcohol is served, sold or brought by guests, and who serves it.
  • Hired vendors, performers and equipment rentals, and any activity beyond the list above.

Request a quote with your event details. Submitting the form does not bind insurance.
