Circus Acrobatics Insurance (No Audience Participation): Coverage, Cost and Same-Day Guide

An acrobatic circus show features aerialists, tumblers, jugglers and other skilled performers, with the audience kept separate and not invited to join. Producers should address who is responsible for rigging, how performer injuries are covered and what the venue requires for public seating near the ring.

Which guide answers my question?

Which activities should the application describe?

Insurers price and review circus acrobatics show with no audience participation insurance from the activity plan, not the event name. Describe who is responsible for each of these arrangements:

  • Describe acrobatic acts and apparatus.
  • Separate the watching audience from performers.
  • Schedule rigging, practice and public performance.

What kind of claim is this insurance for?

Suppose an audience member is hit by a juggling club that flies past the performance ring into the front seats and alleges that the show producer caused the injury. That is the kind of third-party claim event liability insurance may address, subject to the policy terms. If an acrobat falls from a trapeze or aerial silk, since performer injuries may be excluded from event liability, you may need a separate coverage option; ordinary event liability is not automatically the answer.

What should I have ready for a quote?

  • The legal name of the show producer who will be the named insured.
  • Event dates, setup and teardown times, the venue address and expected daily attendance.
  • The venue contract or permit, including any certificate and additional insured wording it requires.
  • Whether alcohol is served, sold or brought by guests, and who serves it.
  • Hired vendors, performers and equipment rentals, and any activity beyond the list above.
