Christmas Tree Lot Insurance: Coverage, Cost and Same-Day Guide

A Christmas tree sale sets up a seasonal lot with stacked trees, netting and baling machines, and often delivery or tie-down help. Operators should consider coverage for inventory left outdoors, equipment such as saws and netting machines and any vehicles used for delivery.

Which guide answers my question?

Which activities should the application describe?

Insurers price and review Christmas tree lot insurance from the activity plan, not the event name. Describe who is responsible for each of these arrangements:

  • Identify tree inventory, storage and loading areas.
  • Describe customer selection and any cutting or securing service.
  • Coordinate delivery vehicles and removal of unsold trees.

What kind of claim is this insurance for?

Suppose a customer is hit by a tree that falls from a leaning display rack as another shopper pulls one free and alleges that the tree lot operator caused the injury. That is the kind of third-party claim event liability insurance may address, subject to the policy terms. If trees are stolen from the lot overnight or a delivery truck backs into a customer's car, you may need a separate coverage option; ordinary event liability is not automatically the answer.

What should I have ready for a quote?

  • The legal name of the tree lot operator who will be the named insured.
  • Event dates, setup and teardown times, the venue address and expected daily attendance.
  • The venue contract or permit, including any certificate and additional insured wording it requires.
  • Whether alcohol is served, sold or brought by guests, and who serves it.
  • Hired vendors, performers and equipment rentals, and any activity beyond the list above.

Request a quote with your event details. Submitting the form does not bind insurance.
