Choir Performance Insurance: Coverage, Cost and Same-Day Guide

A hired choir performs at weddings, holiday events, ceremonies or corporate functions, often with risers, microphones and a conductor. Choirs should confirm who contracts for the performance, what proof of coverage the venue expects and how injuries to their own members would be handled.

Which guide answers my question?

Which activities should the application describe?

Insurers price and review choir performance insurance from the activity plan, not the event name. Describe who is responsible for each of these arrangements:

  • Identify choir membership and the entity contracting for the performance.
  • Describe risers, microphones and conductor access.
  • Coordinate rehearsal and appearance dates with the organizer.

What kind of claim is this insurance for?

Suppose an audience member is hurt when a portable riser section shifts and tips toward the front row and alleges that the choir caused the injury. That is the kind of third-party claim event liability insurance may address, subject to the policy terms. If a singer falls from the risers during the performance or the choir's sound equipment is damaged in transit, you may need a separate coverage option; ordinary event liability is not automatically the answer.

What should I have ready for a quote?

  • The legal name of the choir who will be the named insured.
  • Event dates, setup and teardown times, the venue address and expected daily attendance.
  • The venue contract or permit, including any certificate and additional insured wording it requires.
  • Whether alcohol is served, sold or brought by guests, and who serves it.
  • Hired vendors, performers and equipment rentals, and any activity beyond the list above.

Request a quote with your event details. Submitting the form does not bind insurance.
