Amateur Cheerleading Competition Insurance: Coverage, Cost and Same-Day Guide

An amateur cheerleading competition brings teams together to perform judged routines with tumbling, partner stunts and pyramids on spring or foam mats. Organizers should confirm how athlete injuries are handled, who supplies and inspects the mats and what the venue requires for spectators in the bleachers.

Which guide answers my question?

Which activities should the application describe?

Insurers price and review amateur cheerleading competition insurance from the activity plan, not the event name. Describe who is responsible for each of these arrangements:

  • Identify cheerleading divisions and the routines proposed for judging.
  • Describe whether routines include tumbling, partner stunts or elevated formations.
  • Coordinate practice areas, mats and responsibilities of teams and event operators.

What kind of claim is this insurance for?

Suppose a parent in the front row is struck when a flyer falls outward from a pyramid at the edge of the mat and alleges that the competition organizer caused the injury. That is the kind of third-party claim event liability insurance may address, subject to the policy terms. If an athlete is injured during a tumbling pass or stunt, since participant injuries may be excluded, you may need a separate coverage option; ordinary event liability is not automatically the answer.

What should I have ready for a quote?

  • The legal name of the competition organizer who will be the named insured.
  • Event dates, setup and teardown times, the venue address and expected daily attendance.
  • The venue contract or permit, including any certificate and additional insured wording it requires.
  • Whether alcohol is served, sold or brought by guests, and who serves it.
  • Hired vendors, performers and equipment rentals, and any activity beyond the list above.

Request a quote with your event details. Submitting the form does not bind insurance.
