Charity Dance Insurance: Coverage, Cost and Same-Day Guide

A charity dance raises money through ticket sales or donations, with a DJ or band, a dance floor and often a bar selling drinks. Organizers should clarify who runs the dance floor and bar, whether liquor liability is needed and what the venue expects in writing before the event.

Which guide answers my question?

Which activities should the application describe?

Insurers price and review charity dance insurance from the activity plan, not the event name. Describe who is responsible for each of these arrangements:

  • Describe the charitable dance's admission and fundraising format.
  • Identify the DJ or band and dance-floor operator.
  • Coordinate alcohol proceeds separately from admission receipts.

What kind of claim is this insurance for?

Suppose a guest's heel catches on a raised seam in the rented dance floor and she breaks an ankle and alleges that the dance organizer caused the injury. That is the kind of third-party claim event liability insurance may address, subject to the policy terms. If drinks are sold to raise money and the event has no liquor liability for an intoxicated guest's actions, you may need a separate coverage option; ordinary event liability is not automatically the answer.

What should I have ready for a quote?

  • The legal name of the dance organizer who will be the named insured.
  • Event dates, setup and teardown times, the venue address and expected daily attendance.
  • The venue contract or permit, including any certificate and additional insured wording it requires.
  • Whether alcohol is served, sold or brought by guests, and who serves it.
  • Hired vendors, performers and equipment rentals, and any activity beyond the list above.

Request a quote with your event details. Submitting the form does not bind insurance.
