Chamber of Commerce Event Insurance: Coverage, Cost and Same-Day Guide

A chamber of commerce event brings local businesses, sponsors and the public together for expos, presentations and networking. The chamber should sort out who hosts each area, whether participating businesses carry their own coverage and what sponsors and the venue require as proof of insurance.

Which guide answers my question?

Which activities should the application describe?

Insurers price and review chamber of commerce event insurance from the activity plan, not the event name. Describe who is responsible for each of these arrangements:

  • Identify chamber staff and participating local businesses.
  • Describe networking, exhibits and public presentations.
  • Coordinate sponsor obligations and shared event areas.

What kind of claim is this insurance for?

Suppose a local shopper is hit by a pop-up banner that blows over at a member business's booth on the event lawn and alleges that the chamber of commerce caused the injury. That is the kind of third-party claim event liability insurance may address, subject to the policy terms. If a sponsor's display equipment is damaged or a member business causes an injury without its own coverage, you may need a separate coverage option; ordinary event liability is not automatically the answer.

What should I have ready for a quote?

  • The legal name of the chamber of commerce who will be the named insured.
  • Event dates, setup and teardown times, the venue address and expected daily attendance.
  • The venue contract or permit, including any certificate and additional insured wording it requires.
  • Whether alcohol is served, sold or brought by guests, and who serves it.
  • Hired vendors, performers and equipment rentals, and any activity beyond the list above.

Request a quote with your event details. Submitting the form does not bind insurance.
