Ticketed Birthday Party Insurance: Coverage, Cost and Same-Day Guide

A ticketed birthday party charges a cover or ticket at the door, sometimes with drinks, food or entertainment included, often at a club or rented hall. Hosts should review liability for paying guests, liquor liability for bundled drinks, and what the venue contract requires.

Which guide answers my question?

Which activities should the application describe?

Insurers price and review ticketed birthday party insurance from the activity plan, not the event name. Describe who is responsible for each of these arrangements:

  • Identify the honoree’s age and the actual mix of adult and minor guests.
  • Describe cake, candles, games and any hired entertainers without assuming they are all present.
  • Coordinate the host’s responsibilities for guest activities and rented attractions.
  • Coordinate paid entry, admission conditions and any goods included in the ticket.

What kind of claim is this insurance for?

Suppose a paying guest is hurt when a temporary stage riser used for the birthday toast gives way and alleges that the party host caused the injury. That is the kind of third-party claim event liability insurance may address, subject to the policy terms. If drinks included in the ticket are served without liquor liability and a guest later causes a crash, you may need a separate coverage option; ordinary event liability is not automatically the answer.

What should I have ready for a quote?

  • The legal name of the party host who will be the named insured.
  • Event dates, setup and teardown times, the venue address and expected daily attendance.
  • The venue contract or permit, including any certificate and additional insured wording it requires.
  • Whether alcohol is served, sold or brought by guests, and who serves it.
  • Hired vendors, performers and equipment rentals, and any activity beyond the list above.

Request a quote with your event details. Submitting the form does not bind insurance.
