Bird Event Insurance: Coverage, Cost and Same-Day Guide

A bird event features viewing, handling or flight demonstrations with parrots, raptors or other species brought in by handlers. Organizers should sort out liability for guest bites or scratches, whether animal-related claims may be excluded, and who is responsible for the birds in transit.

Which guide answers my question?

Which activities should the application describe?

Insurers price and review bird event insurance from the activity plan, not the event name. Describe who is responsible for each of these arrangements:

  • Describe the bird event's actual viewing, handling or demonstration program.
  • Identify species, cages and handlers.
  • Coordinate guest contact and animal transport.

What kind of claim is this insurance for?

Suppose a child reaching toward a parrot during a handling demonstration is bitten on the hand and alleges that the bird event organizer caused the injury. That is the kind of third-party claim event liability insurance may address, subject to the policy terms. If a handler's bird escapes or dies in transport, or the handler is bitten during the demonstration, you may need a separate coverage option; ordinary event liability is not automatically the answer.

What should I have ready for a quote?

  • The legal name of the bird event organizer who will be the named insured.
  • Event dates, setup and teardown times, the venue address and expected daily attendance.
  • The venue contract or permit, including any certificate and additional insured wording it requires.
  • Whether alcohol is served, sold or brought by guests, and who serves it.
  • Hired vendors, performers and equipment rentals, and any activity beyond the list above.

Request a quote with your event details. Submitting the form does not bind insurance.
