Antique and Collectible Vendor Insurance: Coverage, Cost and Same-Day Guide

An antique and collectible vendor sells vintage items from a booth at shows, flea markets or fairs, often with heavy furniture and fragile glass on display. Vendors should look at liability for shoppers in the booth, protection for their own inventory, and the certificate the show organizer requires.

Which guide answers my question?

Which activities should the application describe?

Insurers price and review antique and collectible vendor insurance from the activity plan, not the event name. Describe who is responsible for each of these arrangements:

  • Display or supply fragile or high-value collectibles.
  • Manage customers, stock and the stall footprint.
  • Deliver, install and remove the business’s display.

What kind of claim is this insurance for?

Suppose a customer is bruised when a heavy vintage mirror leaning against the booth wall falls forward and alleges that the antique dealer caused the injury. That is the kind of third-party claim event liability insurance may address, subject to the policy terms. If a rare collectible is broken in transit to the show or stolen from the booth, you may need a separate coverage option; ordinary event liability is not automatically the answer.

What should I have ready for a quote?

  • The legal name of the antique dealer who will be the named insured.
  • Event dates, setup and teardown times, the venue address and expected daily attendance.
  • The venue contract or permit, including any certificate and additional insured wording it requires.
  • Whether alcohol is served, sold or brought by guests, and who serves it.
  • Hired vendors, performers and equipment rentals, and any activity beyond the list above.

Request a quote with your event details. Submitting the form does not bind insurance.
